Reading the figure
Rows are coordinates modulo four and columns coordinates modulo six. Each cell is labelled zero or one. Simultaneous translation preserves that label and partitions the grid into two orbits of twelve cells.
| Coordinate mod 4 | Column 0 | Column 1 | Column 2 | Column 3 | Column 4 | Column 5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| 1 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 |
| 2 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| 3 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 |

Original figure caption
The \(4\times6\) grid separates into two diagonal translation orbits, labelled 0 and 1.
The simultaneous translation action on \(\mathbb Z/n\mathbb Z\times\mathbb Z/m\mathbb Z\) has
Mackey decomposition then gives
Here the subscripts denote norm lifts and the Frobenius superscript follows the fixed source convention. The dimension identity is exact: \(dL=nm\).
Scope
These are interaction packets before combining isomorphic summands. A refined induced summand need not remain irreducible.
