A reasoner is asked what a device will display after two operations. It gives the right answer. That success is a fact worth preserving. It does not yet tell us whether the reasoner has a method that will work after three operations, whether the order of the operations matters, or whether the same method could be expressed in another notation. It also does not tell us whether the explanation offered afterward describes the computation that produced the answer.
